We're
here to help.
The Sharon Education Foundation (SEF), a nonprofit organization
formed in 2002, is dedicated to providing private funding for innovative
and challenging programs, and supporting professional development
in the Sharon Public Schools.
Because it is important.
SEF founders believe that private funds should be raised to benefit
Sharon Public School students, by funding new, innovative programs
that would not be possible under normal budgetary constraints. The
Foundation relies on gifts from people like you to support vital
educational initiatives in the Sharon Public Schools.
We care about Sharon.
SEF's Board of Directors is composed
of Sharon parents, residents, educators, alumni, business owners,
and professionals who wish to maintain the educational excellence
of the Sharon Public Schools. Working together towards this important
goal, the Foundation benefits all residents of the community.
We've got a plan.
Our primary objective is to raise funds for grant awards to Sharon
public-school faculty and administrators, parents, students, and
community members. SEF grants will fund
a broad range of projects, including those that focus on traditional
academic subjects, visual and performing arts, promotion of multicultural
and community learning experiences, and professional development.
Through a series of special events and
gifts from community members, we intend to raise and grant an increasing
amount of funds to our schools annually. Our goal is to expand and
enrich the educational experience of thousands of Sharon schoolchildren,
their teachers and staff members.
You can make a difference.
When you give to the Sharon Education Foundation, you're helping
to enhance the quality of education for more than 3,500 schoolchildren
and 400 teachers and staff members. Make a lasting impression on
the Sharon educational experience by making a gift to SEF today.
Three Easy Ways to Support SEF:
Write a check -- take a moment to mail a tax-deductible
contribution to SEF, P.O. Box 470, Sharon, MA 02067. You may contribute
as an individual or with a corporate match.
Give stock -- when you donate shares of appreciated assets,
the benefits add up and your investment in SEF will grow. You get
a tax deduction for the total value of your gift. You avoid paying
capital gains tax on the money you made from the stock's appreciation.
And your gift's value to SEF is greater than the original price
you paid for the stock.
Make a bequest or planned gift -- Include the Foundation
in your estate planning by naming SEF as a beneficiary in your will
or making a planned gift. Planned gifts ensure your charitable intent
will sustain and enrich programs at Sharon Public Schools for generations
to come.
