2010 SEF Spelling Bee: A Community Event
The Sharon Education Foundation is proud to present our 7th annual Spelling Bee at the Sharon High School Gymnasium on Thursday, March 4, 2010 at 7 pm.
The SEF Spelling Bee is fun and educational! For the past six years, Sharon parents and children have enthusiastically attended and supported the people on the spelling teams. This year we have moved the Bee to the SHS gymnasium to accommodate the more than 100 people we anticipate playing on more than 30 teams in addition to hundreds of Sharon parents and children cheering them on!
Participants include:
- Students (from middle school to college)
- Teachers and administrators
- Parents
- PTSO/PTO members
- Business owners and professionals
- Elected and appointed public officials

Scoops for Education
When you purchase food, drinks and ice cream at Crescent Ridge
on the last day of school, a portion of that day’s
proceeds will benefit the Sharon Education Foundation (SEF). SEF
steps in where the regular school budget can't, to support excellence
in Sharon Public Schools. So, bring the whole family and have lunch
and ice cream while supporting a very worthy cause. (Click

Nominations for the Fifth Annual Lee Flaxer Award
The Sharon Education Foundation will be accepting nominations for
the 2010 Lee Flaxer Award soon. The award is given in the spirit of Lee
Flaxer, who served as principal of Heights Elementary School for
many years. She was an outstanding leader who demonstrated that
compassion and caring were essential to a positive learning atmosphere.
The recipient of this award should be a person who has had an impact
on the lives of children through dedication and personal involvement.
